Former cricketer and ace commentator Virender Sehwag was one of the first people on social media to review the Akshay Kumar starrer, Gold. Veeru shared a picture with wife Aarti and their sons, along with Gold superstar Akshay Kumar. He captioned it, “Totally sold on watching Gold. Wonderful, inspiring film. Thank you, Akshay Kumar.”
Akshay plays Tapan Das in the film, the team coach who led independent India to its first Olympic gold. The sports saga is set in 1948.
August 12 was the 70th anniversary of India’s first gold medal, at the 1948 Olympics. On the occasion, Akshay shared a video tribute on his social media pages. “Celebrate 70 years of free India’s first Gold by knowing how it feels by the history makers themselves,” he wrote.
